Expulsion resolution: Administrators brought forward the required annual review of the expulsion resolution (state statute requirement) that allows the district to use a panel rather than the full board for expulsions. The board approved the annual resolution 9–0 after a brief explanation of the panel process.
CESA and personnel approvals: The board approved the CESA contract for specialized placements (detailed in a separate article). It also approved a recommended candidate, Iris Sevilla, for assistant principal at Horning Middle School (motion moved by Mr. Brodsky, seconded by Mr. Zenobia; roll call 9–0).
Compensation: Mr. Clark presented a recommended 3.25% increase to the middle‑management salary schedule for 2024–25, which the administration estimated would raise compensation costs by approximately $199,000–$200,000 based on a March staff snapshot. The board approved the adjustment 9–0.
Consent agenda: The board approved the consent agenda—including 8 resignations, 1 leave request and 35 new or modified contracts—by roll call 9–0.
Academic standards: The Teaching & Learning Committee recommended district academic standards to satisfy Wisconsin Act 55 and DPI notification requirements; the board approved the standards 9–0.
These routine approvals position the district to finalize staffing and contracts ahead of the new school year. Several items required additional administrative monitoring (special-ed placements, compensation budget impact) which staff said they would track and report on.
