At the Oct. 9 meeting, the Finance and Facilities committee summarized summer 2024 capital work across nearly every district school, reporting an approximate $15 million investment. Committee members credited buildings-and-grounds staff with completing much of the work in-house to save costs.
Mrs. Koslowski said the expenditures were managed to avoid asking taxpayers for additional funds by using operating dollars available through ESSER. Committee members praised the maintenance team's expertise and the project's visual improvements around schools.
Committee members also reviewed updated 2024–25 budget numbers tied to the third-Friday pupil count, updated property valuation and projected tax levy. The committee noted DPI will certify equalization aid and voucher participation on Oct. 15, which will allow the district to finalize the tax levy and rate; the board is scheduled to approve the final 2024–25 budget and tax levy on Oct. 28.
