Students design 3D trophy model chosen for WIAA girls state wrestling award

Students and staff showcased a 3D-modeled trophy design intended for the WIAA girls state wrestling trophy. Presenters explained they used a phone-based 3D scan of a student wrestler, refined the model in class over several weeks and partnered with CTech Manufacturing for prototype printing. District staff said the WIAA has possession of the file and the California foundry (Esco) is producing the first official castings.
Students Nathan Prince, Derek Prince and Haleyanna Schroeder described their roles in scanning and modeling; the presenter credited CTech Manufacturing and district enterprise-class students for hands-on engineering collaboration. Superintendent and board members praised the partnership as an example of applied technical education and community collaboration.
