City staff presented a midyear check-in on the city’s 2024 goals, grouping items into three categories: actions already taken (road improvements, sign ordinance revisions, removal of dog licensing, a newsletter insert, and a planned October street dance), items discussed but not yet directed (leaf pickup, equipment, lighting infill, park dedication funds), and items that require council direction for possible inclusion in the 2025 budget (recession planning, veterans memorial, sidewalk infill, additional park projects and amenities).
Staff said staff would bring firm cost numbers for parks such as Bluebird Park, Eagle Park and the skate park at upcoming meetings. Council discussed combining some items into park dedication funds and requested follow-up. Speaker 3 moved to table the broader discussion pending additional information and the committee voted to recess to attend the planning commission meeting.
Outcome: the council tabled further discussion on the listed items and recessed; staff will return with cost estimates and agenda items at future meetings.
