Isanti Council unanimously OKs extension for Barack Realty development agreement

Staff said the business requested an extension and that the EDA considered and recommended approval of that extension at a recent meeting. Councilman Lundin moved to approve the extension; Councilman Holmgren seconded. The presiding official called for the vote and recorded the motion as carrying 5-0.
The action formalizes the EDA's recommendation and allows additional time for the developer to begin construction under the terms of the existing agreement. The council did not discuss changes to the underlying site-plan approval or new development conditions during the meeting.
Next steps: Because the council approved the extension, the development agreement remains in effect with the new timeline set by staff and the EDA; staff did not specify the new deadline on the record at the meeting.
