The Isanti Economic Development Authority voted unanimously to approve a resolution to award the 2025 crop lease for an EDA‑owned parcel on the west side of town.
Staff told the board the city advertised the parcel and received a single quote from Jacob Kiefenheim of Kiefenheim Farms, who holds the 2024 lease. According to staff, the proposed 2025 lease is roughly in line with last year and higher than some earlier years, though staff did not provide the exact dollar amount.
Commissioner Lundeen moved to approve the resolution and Commissioner Henningkamp seconded. After the ayes were called, Speaker 6 announced the motion carried 7-0.
The vote completes the lease award for the 2025 crop year; staff did not specify an effective date or the precise term and rent amount during the presentation. Staff indicated they will include parcel details in the meeting packet (Exhibit A) and follow up with final paperwork.
The board moved on to discussion of EDA meeting frequency and the authority's role in city economic development before adjourning.
