Bill Stickles, editor of the San Anishisago County Star and a Cambridge resident, presented certificates and window clings from the newspaper’s readers' choice awards during public comment. He said the contest drew about 6,500 nominations in May and nearly 55,000 votes in July across roughly 40 categories. He noted the Isanti Liquor Store won Best Liquor Store and Best Wine Selection and was a finalist in beer and customer-service categories; Bluebird Park was a finalist for best local park.
