The Bastrop Planning & Zoning Commission voted Sept. 26 to forward the city’s 2025 schedule of uniform plat submittal dates to City Council for final action, complying with the state’s so‑called “shot‑clock” requirements for plat processing.
Miss Kennedy explained the calendar reflects monthly Monday submittal dates, with adjustments for holidays, an optional voluntary waiver for flexibility, and staff‑level administrative approvals for minor plats. She said the calendar will be posted on the Development Services page of the city website and that submittals follow a two‑week review period to allow time for reports and agenda posting.
Separately, Development Services presented its monthly project volume report for August. Staff reported a certificate of occupancy for De Leon Beauty Institute, a new Honeybee daycare occupying a former vacant daycare at 102 Corporate Drive, Blake’s Music Shop opening on Loop 150 (former paint store), ongoing school additions and remodels on Old Austin Highway, and a small Wells Fargo ATM site project. Staff said many projects remain pending utilities and subdivision acceptance.
A motion to approve the calendar and forward it to City Council was moved and seconded; the commission agreed to transmit it for council consideration.
