The Bastrop City Council approved Resolution R-2024-134 to appoint four members to the Bastrop Central District Board for staggered terms beginning Jan. 2025.
City Secretary explained a law change requires staggered terms; the district revised its slate and one previously approved member, Mr. Archer, declined reappointment. Council opted to approve the four nominees submitted by the district. Councilmember Lee moved to approve and the motion carried on a unanimous roll call.
The resolution sets the appointments in motion and directs the district to determine which appointees will serve one-, two- and three-year terms in accordance with the updated law.
