The Bastrop Economic Development Corporation board approved the Sept. 25, 2024 meeting minutes and elected its fiscal year officers Monday by voice vote. A motion to approve Ron Spencer as board chair passed; the board also moved to keep Frank as secretary/treasurer.
Board members reviewed a package of bids for a build-out of three offices and a conference space at the former utilities business office. Staff recommended Moab Construction as the low bidder (approximately $84,449), noting Moab completed prior city projects, including the utilities office conversion and work at the Bastrop Visitor Center Museum. Staff said a contract will be circulated, and Moab anticipated starting as soon as the contract is finalized, with a realistic completion timeframe likely in January given the holidays and the scope of work.
The board also approved Resolution RDash2024Dash0011 (as presented) by voice vote; staff said the item would move to the City Council or the joint EDC–council meeting as appropriate for final action or sign‑off.
