The Anderson County Commissioners Court approved a Visionality quote to upgrade the county courtroom audiovisual system to improve minute-taking and in-court presentation capabilities. Judge explained the system would place microphones on single channels, add a 75-inch movable television networked to a projector and provide HDMI connectivity so presentations can be displayed while retaining a smaller live view of speakers for minute-taking.
The court reviewed cost components presented in the packet: equipment listed at $40,958.77, professional services and installation labor of $26,254.18 and a total project cost repeatedly cited by the judge as $67,212.95. Judge discussed paying via two purchase orders (one for equipment this year and the second for installation/remaining costs after the new year) because the vendor anticipated not having time to install before year-end.
Judge asked for a motion to approve the quote from Visionality; Commissioner Hill moved and Commissioner Dixon seconded. The court approved proceeding using the current budgeted funds and the two‑payment approach.
Court staff noted the upgrade is intended to improve recording and transcription accuracy for multi‑speaker exchanges and to provide better displays for juries and presenters.
