Bell County Commissioners on Aug. 5 approved a slate of subdivision plats from county engineers covering Precincts 1–3.
County Engineer Brian presented the Holiday Hill preliminary plat (110.32 acres, 130 lots in Precinct 2) describing two access points (Atkins and FM 2268), approximately 1.9 miles of new road built to TxDOT specifications, septic-based utilities reviewed and certified by the health district, a detention pond and floodplain touches that will require permits for any impacted lots. Commissioners added a restricted-access condition (no access on Krause/Crouch Road except for the main Atkins entry) before voting to approve the preliminary plat.
The court also approved the preliminary plat for Windmill Estates (89.54 acres, 93 lots, Precinct 2) and final plats for Highcrest Phase 1 Amendment No. 1 (9.012 acres, 8 lots), Montoya Estates (1.442 acres, 1 lot, Precinct 3) and Stone Summit Phase 1 (16.22 acres, 9 lots). Engineers described standard setback lines, utility easements, detention design and pavement sections; the court reiterated that plat approval does not obligate the county to accept roads for maintenance.
What happens next: For preliminary plats, developers must post performance bonds and construct to approved plans; for final plats, county staff will proceed with administrative steps per county subdivision regulations.
