Bell County Commissioners appoint Roseanne Fisher to fill Justice of the Peace seat; bond approved

The Bell County Commissioners Court on Nov. 12 unanimously appointed Roseanne Fisher to fill the unexpired term of Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3 Place 1, vacated by Keith Reed, whose retirement takes effect Nov. 15, 2024.
The court accepted Keith Reed's retirement notice and then considered Fisher's appointment. A motion to appoint Fisher was made and seconded; the court approved the appointment by voice vote. The court noted Fisher appears to have been elected to that seat in the recent election, and the commission said the official canvass of the election will occur the following Monday. The commissioners scheduled the swearing-in for Nov. 15 in the courtroom.
The court also approved the official bond required for the Justice of the Peace office. Commissioners indicated human resources had processed the retirement paperwork and that the bond paperwork was standard for the office. The bond motion was moved and seconded and carried unanimously.
No commissioner spoke against the appointments or the bond, and the court closed the item after the unanimous votes.
