Bell County Commissioners Court on Nov. 18 approved several county engineer items, including minor plats and acceptance of subdivision roads for county maintenance across multiple precincts.
The court approved the Wood Road Addition minor plat in Precinct 1, a 6.74-acre, two-lot subdivision presented with setbacks, easements and confirmation of OSSF approval. The engineer also presented Armstrong Estates Phase 2, Frederick Estates Phase 2A, Eagle Ranch, Flintridge 2 and Turnbow Ranch Phase 1 for road acceptance. Presentations included location maps, inspection dates and developer/contractor names.
Motions to approve came from various commissioners: Commissioner Schneider moved and Commissioner Whitson seconded approval of the Wood Road Addition; Commissioner Whitson moved and Commissioner Schneider seconded acceptance of Armstrong Estates Phase 2 (the court later announced the motion carried 4-0-1 with one abstention); Commissioner Woodson moved and Commissioner Schuman seconded Frederick Estates Phase 2A (accepted 4-0-1); Commissioner Woodson moved and Commissioner Schneider seconded Eagle Ranch (accepted by voice vote); and Turnbow Ranch Phase 1 in Precinct 4 was presented and approved after motion.
During Flintridge 2 discussion, a commissioner asked about conflict-of-interest forms because a member had a contractor relationship; the court agreed to verify forms with the county attorney and recorded an abstention where appropriate. Engineers noted inspection and warranty-bond expiration dates for each subdivision; total mileage figures included 0.658 miles for Frederick Estates Phase 2A, 1.4 miles for Eagle Ranch and 1.3 miles for Flintridge 2.
The court closed county engineer items and moved to the canvass after approving the plats and road acceptances.
