Board approves three-year update to Rock County Land Information Plan

The Rock County Board of Supervisors approved an amendment to the county Land Information Plan, a three-year update that clarifies how retained recording fees may be used for land-record projects, monument maintenance, planning internships and certain broadband-related efforts.
Andrew Baker, planning director and land conservation director, presented the update on behalf of the register of deeds and noted the full plan is posted on the planning and development committee agenda. "So land information plan is essentially the plan to utilize retained fees that we get from recording fees," Baker said, describing common uses including monument maintenance and interns.
Supervisor Mawhinney moved the amendment and Supervisor Southerland seconded; the board approved the plan by voice vote.
The amendment updates the plan for projects the county anticipates over the next three years and is required for the county to allocate retained recording fees to those efforts. The board did not identify specific projects in the meeting packet; the full plan contains the detailed project list on the planning and development agenda.
