At its Nov. 12 meeting the Richland County Executive & Finance standing committee approved or forwarded a series of actions to the full county board. Key outcomes:
- Edge Consulting change order approved: Committee approved a $26,200 change order related to relocation of a planned radio tower to a neighboring parcel; staff said contingencies remain healthy and the total project cost will be adjusted accordingly. Motion passed by voice vote.
- Procurement policy and fee schedule: Committee approved the consolidated procurement policy and fee schedule and forwarded them to the full county board (see separate report). The committee noted that any short-term rental fee will be inserted into the fee schedule if the board adopts that ordinance.
- Farmland lease template: Committee approved a template farmland lease form to be used for county properties; individual lease contracts will come forward for specific discussion and approval as needed.
- Campus Foundation grant: Committee approved accepting a $3,000 grant to support a half-time Wisconsin 4-H educator position; the county’s share would be $2,500 and the grant acceptance will go to the county board.
- Ambulance Association donation: Committee approved forwarding a resolution to accept a $30,866.64 donation from the Richland County Ambulance Association to fund personal protective equipment for EMS staff (resolution restricts funds from being used for vehicles).
- Lou Everett Group contract: Committee approved forwarding a proposed $25,650 training contract with the Lou Everett Group (a 12-month training program with two in-person kickoff sessions and quarterly virtual sessions) to the county board for final approval.
What’s next: Most items were forwarded to the full county board for final action at upcoming meetings; staff will prepare final documents and fee insertions as requested by the committee.
