Committee approves two family-requested service contracts and amends a group-home contract

HHS staff presented two new service contracts for approval and the committee approved both without recorded opposition. The contracts were described as family-requested services under the Children's Long-Term Support program; Bluff and Ridge assisted equine therapy (location noted as Kendall, Wisconsin) was one example and staff said program funds — not county tax levy — would cover costs.

Kayla, speaking about a separate contract amendment for Forward Home for Boys, said the county had placed additional youth there since the start of the year. At the time the draft amendment was prepared, three young people were placed at the group home; current placements had dropped to two but staff said the amendment covered the period when additional funds were needed. The committee moved, seconded, and approved the amended contract.

Committee discussion included clarifying where services are located and confirming that program funds, not levy dollars, cover the assisted-therapy services. No recorded votes against the contract motions were made on the record.
