Village staff presented a preliminary look at the general fund ahead of a final budget vote and set the formal public hearing for the Dec. 5 meeting.
Speaker 3 said the general-fund portion of the tax base grew roughly 1.44% from net new construction and so the general fund itself will not require a new tax rate. He said an existing debt service for a previously approved fire truck will cause a small tax increase estimated at about $12–$16 for a $100,000 house. Staff also noted a garbage-fee increase of $0.10 per household tied to a new collection contract (rising from $1.20 to $1.30 per household in the preliminary figures).
On expenditures, the village anticipates a 4% personnel increase across general staff and continued uncertainty on health-insurance premiums (staff used a 10% estimate pending final numbers). The board voted to set the public hearing on the 2025 budget for Dec. 5 at 6:00 p.m. so the hearing can be published and public comment solicited.
Administrator Nathan and staff will return with a finalized presentation and any updated revenue estimates before the hearing.
