The New Richmond City Council voted to accept the low bid to purchase a loader with a hydraulic box plow at a cost of $214,900 and to pursue the recommended six-year/3,000-hour warranty. Staff said the loader is a more versatile piece of equipment than a grader for year-round use, handling parking lots, alleys and cul-de-sacs in addition to winter plowing.
Staff reported receiving four bids and recommended the low bid from Miller Bradford & Risberg for $214,900 with an estimated trade-in value of $22,500. The council discussed warranty length, how many hours machinery accrues, and options to solicit trade-in offers from local contractors to possibly increase the trade-in return. A motion to accept the low bid and proceed with the warranty recommendation passed on roll call.
