Greenfield council approves claims resolutions, licenses and public-works items

On legal matters, the council approved a resolution authorizing settlement of a subrogation claim involving GEICO and Lusafar Hussain and separately adopted a resolution disallowing a diminished-value claim by Musafar Hussain for an incident dated June 29, 2024. Both actions were taken on the city attorney's recommendation and were moved and seconded before recorded 'Aye' votes.
Licensing approvals included operator license applications for 2025 and a Class B/Class C fermented-malt-beverage and wine retailer license for Pizza 79 Milwaukee (the Mountain Mike's location). The council also approved four Class B retailer licenses for indoor events hosted by the Hogg Harley owners group on specified December and January dates.
From the Board of Public Works, the council approved installing an LED crosswalk signal on Grange/Johnny Creek and authorized a two-year agreement with SureClean LLC for the related work; council members discussed fast-tracking signage approval on the Milwaukee side for safety reasons. Members also approved a package of finance and human resources items forwarded from the Dec. 11 committee meeting, covering insurance, non-rep resolutions, organizational charts, library staffing under the non-rep agreement, a job description and recruitment authorization for a buildings and facilities manager, a proposed salary change for the city prosecutor, a side letter with the fire union, pay and benefits for police sergeants, capital fund transfers, acceptance of October financial statements, disbursements, mileage reimbursements and reinvestment actions.
Council moved to approve the listed items as presented; each item was called and approved by recorded 'Aye' votes. No contested roll-call votes or recorded 'No' votes were reflected in the meeting transcript for these items.
The council concluded routine business, agreed on several future agenda items and adjourned at approximately 7:28 p.m.
