On grant and program updates, staff said an RFQ for the Energy Innovation grant has been issued and remains open for the 30-day period required, with staff awaiting guidance from the Office of Energy Innovation before contracting. Staff also noted that WLGCC (West-central group referenced at the meeting) received an award with Stevens Point serving as lead and that the award is related to "ICLEI Greenhouse Gas Tracking." Staff expects additional information and next steps by mid-summer.
Board members expressed frustration at the absence of a designated sustainability director and said they wanted sustainability objectives represented among council priorities. No formal votes were taken; staff said they will pursue alternate funding and report back when the RFP process for the sustainability plan is ready.
