Museum of Wisconsin Art highlights 60,000 annual visitors and Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit

Claire Rolfes, chairman of the Museum of Wisconsin Art, presented the museum’s annual 'State of the Wedge' to the council, reporting roughly 60,000 visitors in the past year and an estimated $3,100,000 annual economic impact to West Bend.
Rolfes said 68% of the museum’s members live outside Washington County and that MOA has become a regional attraction, second in the county only to Holy Hill. She described recent programming (the Ho-Chunk Makers Fair and the 'Bloom' fall event), the immersive installation 'Into the Blue' by Jennifer Angus currently on exhibit, and plans for a Frank Lloyd Wright exhibition opening next October that will include rarely seen materials and newly realized pieces from Wright’s plans.
Rolfes said MOA is exploring expansion because the facility is near capacity after 11–12 years of operations and noted progress on a pilot garden-plot payment. She thanked council for support and invited the community to upcoming events such as Champagne Shopping and Winter Week.
The council acknowledged the museum’s regional draw and economic contribution during the presentation.
