Keith County commissioners approve agenda, claims and appoint Thomas Wilbur as NERMA contact

Keith County—s Board of Commissioners approved routine administrative business during the meeting, including the day—s agenda, amendments to prior minutes, payment of claims and a new appointment to serve as the county—s NERMA contact.

The board approved the meeting agenda following a motion by Commissioner Kraske and a second from Commissioner Schroeder. Commissioners also approved amendments to the prior meeting and the payment of claims; each motion carried on a roll-call vote with all members recorded as "Yes."

On new business, a motion to appoint Thomas Wilbur as the county—s NERMA contact person passed unanimously after a second and a roll-call vote. Commissioners thanked Wilbur for completing training and noted the position carries ongoing responsibilities. The board characterized the role as involving long-term duties and observed it may require continuing participation in training events.

Other administrative items included authorization for travel for Jamie Moore to attend the NACO conference; that motion carried unanimously on roll-call. Commissioners also received a monthly update from county staff and accepted a report from Caleb Johnson that Hartford Life Insurance would hold the county's rate through February 2027.

The board did not take additional binding policy action beyond these approvals; items such as equipment procurement were opened for public bid and deferred for staff review and recommendation.
