The Keith County Board of Commissioners moved through several consent and personnel matters during the meeting.
After approving the agenda, the minutes of the prior meeting and payment of claims by unanimous roll call, the board approved a travel request for an employee (Jamie) to attend the Region 6 weeds superintendent meeting in North Platte on Nov. 21.
The board appointed Thomas as the county’s NERMA contract contact (a role previously handled by Barb) and voted to pay Thomas the same salary Barb had been receiving, effective in the current pay period. Commissioners discussed the duties and agreed the appointment would continue until staffing adjustments are made.
The board also authorized Joan to sign the annual Banner Health blood‑draw contract for employee screenings and tentatively scheduled the event for the first two weeks of February. The contract renewal is intended to facilitate employee health screenings and may help control insurance costs by identifying conditions early.
Other routine items noted included a quarterly franchise fee payment from Charter Communications recorded as revenue ($1,960.94).
