Craig Moore, a Baker High School and Fairborn High School alumnus, presented a historical slide program Thursday documenting the schools on Lincoln Drive and what he called the 100th season of Fairborn football.
Moore said Fairborn football began in 1924 and did not play in 1933, which is why he marked the current season as the 100th. He traced the program’s locations from Waterworks Park (formerly Central Park) through Memorial Stadium to the new Alumni Field at Skyhawk Stadium, and highlighted a series of long-serving coaches and notable seasons.
Moore told the board he compiled a timeline and photo history that includes prices and purchase details from archival sources and offered two copies of the collection to the district. "This will be available in the stadium for $3," he said of the printed program.
Board members thanked Moore and described the donor's two requests tied to recent field naming: to designate the football field "Alumni Field" and to include the Flyers legacy on the field. Board members also discussed attempts to capture the file electronically for distribution and noted that some pricing details came from different sources; Moore said he reconciled them as best he could in the timeline.
The presentation was commemorative and informational; there was no vote attached to Moore’s remarks.
