North Kingstown manager announces bond forum dates, public-safety tours, decoration grant and cybersecurity training

At the start of the meeting Town Manager Ralph gave several community updates. He said forms for two bond questions on the November ballot are available and that forums are "tentatively scheduled for October 21" (school forum) and "October 23" (public safety forum). He also said the North Kingstown Fire and Police chiefs invite residents to tour the Public Safety Complex on Post Road on October 9, October 23, and October 26.
Ralph announced the town will roll out a winter "Wonderland" decoration grant program in 2024 that continues a $1,000 reimbursement and adds new awards for best traditional, best contemporary and best new-participant decorations. He said winners will be announced at the tree-lighting in Wickford.
On cybersecurity, Ralph said the IT department launched a new training platform endorsed by the ITAC committee to improve employee awareness of email-based threats; the town plans participation incentives and is "looking for 100% participation." He thanked the town clerk and election staff and reminded residents that early voting begins Wednesday, October 16, at the Municipal Office Building.
Councilors and staff also noted recent Chamber of Commerce outreach and constituent correspondence received since the last meeting. These items were presented as manager's updates and no formal action was requested at the meeting.
