At Monday’s meeting the North Kingstown Town Council approved its consent agenda, heard a report of approximately $7,543 in donations to the town’s holiday program, and approved a series of appointments and reappointments to local boards and commissions.
The consent agenda was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote. The chair also read a list of donors who contributed to the town’s holiday program.
The council approved the Wickford Art Festival’s request to use Wilson Park for its July event after public discussion about location and community impact. The council also considered and approved multiple appointments: Randy Wheatman was appointed as the town’s Quonset Development Corporation representative after a roll-call vote; other approvals included appointments and renewals for the Charter Review Commission, Historic District Commission, Library Board of Trustees and various advisory boards. Several appointments were unopposed and passed by voice vote.
Councilors noted the importance of representative appointments and flagged a desire to broaden age and experiential diversity on boards and commissions going forward.
