The Tiverton Town Council voted to approve Resolution 20240116‑0016, appropriating casino special‑revenue funds for a package of projects that the council discussed Oct. 9 — including an added $65,000 DPW pickup with plow package. Councilors said the addition brings the total appropriation discussed to $2,377,765.
Council members reviewed line items including funds for plan implementation related to the North Tiverton Committee and a Weston Sampson contract, and asked staff to provide itemized billing as projects proceed. One councilor noted about $1 million in remaining casino funds and said unspent dollars would be reallocated if not used.
The council moved the resolution, seconded and approved it after discussion; councilors also discussed fleet replacement priorities and the availability of vehicles through state master price agreements. The measure included authority to procure the DPW pickup within the $65,000 allowance or return to council if a significantly different price is required.
