The Tiverton Town Council accepted the resignation of Sharon Karos from the North End and Industrial Park Advisory Subcommittee effective Nov. 6, 2024, and thanked her for her service.
The council reappointed Deborah L. Plant (1006 Crandall Road) to the three-member Tax Assessor/Board of Review for a term ending Oct. 15, 2027. A motion to waive policy rules for the reappointment was moved and seconded and carried.
Cecile Rose Guimar, who told the council she has been a Tiverton resident for 54 years and currently resides in housing authority units, was appointed to the Housing Authority resident seat for a term ending Oct. 15, 2029. Councilors confirmed that the seat is specifically designated for a resident of the housing authority before moving and approving her appointment.
Several community members had earlier urged removing the requirement that a subcommittee chair be a councilor, a separate agenda item later adopted by the council.
All appointments and the resignation acknowledgment were approved by voice vote.
