Narragansett renews 41 alcoholic beverage licenses for 2024–25; Boone Street Market pulled for later hearing

The Narragansett Town Council opened a public hearing on Nov. 18 and approved the annual renewals of the town’s alcoholic beverage licenses for the 2024–25 license period.
Council President opened the hearing for the renewal period of Dec. 1, 2024, to Nov. 30, 2025, noting the town issues several license classes and that the holder is entitled to renewal if the application is complete and meets criteria. The council voted to renew 41 alcoholic licenses in the town, approving Class A package-store licenses (four stores), Class B full-service victualing licenses (21 businesses, excluding Boone Street Market which was pulled), Class B limited licenses (six businesses), Class B tavern licenses (three businesses) and Class D club licenses (six organizations). Votes on the renewals were recorded as unanimous for the items taken that night (most motions passed 5–0).
Examples of approved businesses included Aunt Carrie’s, Agave Social Restaurant, The Coastal Cabin, Champlin’s Seafood Deck, Mariner Grill, The Break Hotel and Bonnet Liquors. The Market at Gansett Rail LLC (Boone Street Market) was removed from the vote and its renewal was deferred to Dec. 2 after council discussion about complaints.
What’s next: Renewals approved at the Nov. 18 meeting remain in effect for the license period, except for the Boone Street Market application, which will be heard Dec. 2.
