Council approves bulk license renewals, sets conditional reviews and short extensions

At its Nov. 25 meeting the East Greenwich Town Council approved multiple routine license renewals, placed a handful of applications on a 'granted but not issued' track pending inspections or state clearances, and set conditions or follow-ups for others.
Clerk Lee Carney presented lists of businesses found fully compliant; council approved renewals for restaurants and bars including Blue Seacrest (listed on the agenda), Cracker Barrel, Dante's, End Zone Pub & Grill, Finn's Harborside, Fresco, Low Key Cafe, Providence Oyster Bar, Raku Sakura, Supreme Pizza, Waysider Grill and others. Grey's on Main received approval for renewal with the explicit caveat that its outdoor amplified sound permit will be reviewed in spring 2025 and will be subject to town sound testing and house‑equipment requirements.
Several applicants were approved on a 'granted but not issued' basis, subject to final local approvals and inspections; Twisted Pizza's outdoor amplified sound likewise will be reviewed in spring 2025. For two incomplete applications the council offered limited continuances: Frank and John's Pizza (Luc Chacon) — where an online submission was delayed — was extended to a Jan. 13 continued hearing with a firm instruction that an incomplete application by then will result in denial. Water Street Kitchen & Bar (Dustin Slocum) was likewise continued to Jan. 13 pending tax clearance from the state division of taxation; the clerk said she can confirm clearance administratively if received prior to that date.
The council also approved extended‑hours (24‑hour) license renewals for convenience stores and two McDonald's locations, and approved new mechanical and entertainment permits for Craft & Hope Brewing Company (indoor acoustic entertainment; a future outdoor amplified application will be considered in spring). Nearly all renewal votes were recorded as passing by roll call 3–0.
What to watch next: Applicants placed on a 'granted but not issued' list must satisfy inspections and local approvals to have their licenses issued. Applicants continued to Jan. 13 must complete outstanding state or permit requirements by that hearing or face denial.
