Sabine Parish tax roll certified; two assessment protests received and upheld

Staff presented a letter from Tax Assessor Chris Tidwell certifying the total taxable value at $368,062,431 and reported that two protests of assessment were received: one from Comstock Oil and Gas LLP (assessment number 2060006805) and another from Bullard LLC (assessment number 0050148120). Staff provided background on the protests, noting issues related to production trends and valuation methodology; the assessor indicated appeals to the Louisiana Tax Commission could follow if the taxpayers pursue them.
The jury adopted a resolution formally certifying the tax roll, noting receipt of the protests and upholding the assessor on the listed assessments. The resolution also stated no further meetings of the Board of Review would be necessary and the board adjourned its session in that capacity.
Next steps: staff and the assessor will follow the statutory appeals process if petitioners pursue formal appeal to the Louisiana Tax Commission.
