Superintendent outlines '10 mind frames' for new teachers, highlights collective teacher efficacy

The superintendent thanked staff who supported new-teacher orientation and pointed to district curriculum and evaluation tools (EduPlanet and a professional-growth evaluation handbook) that support teacher planning and principal evaluation. Board members were offered copies of the book and invited to review the nine steps the authors recommend to support teacher effectiveness.
The superintendent also noted the Maine Department of Education is holding listening sessions to "measure what matters," and said another session was added at Miller School; the superintendent said details were sent in email and posted to the board packet.
No formal action was taken; the presentation was provided as informational and board members were invited to ask questions or request additional detail.
