A trustee asked, "How does the child-find when they implemented? Like, who what agency department I mean, find that there's somebody who's been found?" Policy committee representatives and administrators explained screening and registration processes will identify students in need of services and that some students will already be known through child development services; the district will still be responsible for ensuring eligible children receive needed services when they enter the school.
The board approved the motion to proceed to second reading. The chair announced the motion passed, and the policies will return for a subsequent meeting for formal adoption.
