Plan commission approves metal accessory structure waiver for Peter Jewell

The Muskego City plan commission unanimously approved Resolution PC055-2024 on Nov. 6 to allow an existing metal accessory structure to remain at 16812 Greenridge Veil after a recent land split.
Adam, a city staff presenter, told the commission the accessory structure predates a new house now under construction on the southern portion of the lot and sits on the northern portion, separated from the new house and largely hidden by tree cover. "Staff is recommending approval," Adam said, noting there is "no change to the metal building itself" and that the primary request was a waiver because the outbuilding does not match the new home.
Commission discussion did not produce substantive objections and a motion to approve, moved by S6 and seconded by S5, passed unanimously.
The approval is effectively a waiver of the design-match requirement for the accessory building; no structural alterations to the metal building were proposed at the hearing. The plan commission record notes visibility is limited "at least when there's leaf cover," and staff emphasized there is no change proposed to the existing metal building.
The resolution was adopted without additional conditions beyond normal permitting and oversight. The commission moved on to other agenda items after the vote.
