The Muskego City Public Works and Safety Committee voted Oct. 28 to approve public improvements for Phase 1 of the Kirkland Crossing residential subdivision, which will include 66 lots, public water and sanitary sewer, stormwater ponds and a water booster station.
"This is probably the biggest residential subdivision that's come in a long time," Scott said during a presentation of the plan, describing the primary entrance off Martin Drive and a secondary connection on College Drive. Scott told the committee the developer intends to begin utility work this winter after obtaining DNR approval for water and after the developer agreement is reviewed by the city attorney.
The committee moved and seconded approval and the motion passed. No vote tally was recorded in the transcript.
Committee members asked for the map to be circulated and emphasized that city review of developer agreements and state approvals remain conditions before construction begins.
Next steps: staff will continue review of the developer agreement and monitor DNR approval for the public water system before developer utility work begins.
