The Muskego City Common Council voted by roll call to convene in closed session to address three items described publicly by the clerk: 1) discussion of the city’s offender ordinance in relation to an offender living within restricted boundaries; 2) notices of injury served on city officials and a police officer related to a minor who is deceased; and 3) a grievance filed by a police officer to be reviewed under the collective-bargaining agreement (Article 5, Step 3).
The clerk read the statutory authorization on the record, citing Wis. Stat. §19.85(1)(g) as the legal basis for discussing strategy related to litigation or likely litigation with counsel. Following a motion to go into closed session, aldermen answered a roll-call request: Alderman Wolf, Alderman Hamill, Alderman Decker, Schware, Schrader, Kubacki and Madden each recorded “Yes,” yielding seven votes in favor and a motion-carrying result. The presiding speaker stated, “We are in closed session.”
The council stated it would reconvene only to adjourn. No substantive deliberations or outcomes from the closed session were disclosed in the public record.
