MUSKEGO, Wis. — The Muskego Plan Commission on Oct. 1 approved a conditional use permit allowing a front handicap access ramp at 13803 Pringle Drive, the commission said during its meeting.
The commission voted to adopt Resolution PC 0542024, approving the request from property owner Rita Patterson. The proposed ramp would encroach approximately 2 feet into the required front setback under the Muskego Zoning Ordinance Section 400-159. The measure passed unanimously after a brief staff explanation and no public opposition.
Adam, a city staff member, told the panel that staff and the contractor had evaluated options and selected a ramp configuration that required a conditional use because it doubles back and encroaches on the setback. "With these we typically require that once there is no longer a need for the ramp that the ramp would be removed," Adam said, describing the standard condition staff recommends. He said the main part of the front deck is compliant and can remain.
Commissioners made the motion to approve and seconded it; the commission recorded a unanimous affirmative vote. The resolution record lists the property by address and tax key number 2253.9980.002.
The commission had opened the public hearing on the request earlier in the meeting; no members of the public spoke for or against the application. With no further business, the Plan Commission adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
The approval includes the condition that the ramp be removed when it is no longer needed for accessibility. Further permitting or inspections required by city code were not detailed in the verbal record at the meeting.
