Peachtree City presents first paid summer internship cohort; program named a finalist for youth leadership award

Dr. Tabb introduced Peachtree City’s 2024 summer interns — the cohort calls itself 'PTC Pathfinders' — and asked each intern to present their name, home school and assigned city department to the council.
The 10-week paid program drew about 30 applicants for 10 spots, Dr. Tabb said. Interns named at the meeting included Brady Dunn (GIS), Lydia Golley (planning and zoning), Yvonne Hernandez (human resources), Freddie Lawrence (communications), Natalie Lockwood (Convention & Visitors Bureau), Jada Mitchum (city manager’s office), Katarina Soroka (engineering), Molly Stinson (library oral-history transcription), Brandon Taylor (finance) and cohort president Oluwa Dilapo Thomas (municipal court).
Dr. Tabb told the council the program aims to develop leadership and workforce skills and to create a local government recruitment pipeline; staff noted the program has been nominated by Georgia City Solutions for a youth leadership award and will be a finalist at the organization’s October event at Zoo Atlanta. Councilors congratulated the interns and asked several about their majors and department work.
Council did not take formal action; staff thanked participants and said they will bring back any takeaways from the Georgia City Solutions event.
