Residents and council members gathered to mark the unveiling of Cahill Commons and to honor Kathy, whose contributions to local parks programming were repeatedly cited during the caucus meeting.
Council member Mark Collier and others screened a marketing video and speakers described Kathy as central to park activities and outreach. Attendees said Kathy organized programs with little budget and created opportunities for children and families; one attendee said, "She had everything planned for us. She met us with a hug. She was amazing." The park now includes new swings and other features speakers said Kathy had long requested.
Speakers also noted the Erlanger Police Department’s 70th/75th anniversary and community engagement events such as National Night Out, praising officers and K‑9 demonstrations as crowd favorites. The tribute and community turnout were described as a meaningful recognition of Kathy's legacy.
The remarks were part of the caucus agenda before budget and project business; council members thanked staff for organizing the dedication and the video presentation.
