Kevin Keenan was appointed temporary chair and presided over the Springfield School District’s Dec. 5 reorganization meeting before the board elected its 2025 officers.
In nominations conducted under Keenan’s temporary leadership, Bruce Lord was nominated and elected board president for 2025 by voice vote. The board also elected Jennifer Laughlin as vice president and approved Mark Cerini as board solicitor. Each of those motions passed by a 7–0 voice vote.
The reorganization meeting also included routine housekeeping approvals commonly taken at the start of a board’s calendar year—designation of depositories and authorization of the district’s bank accounts and signatories—each approved unanimously.
The board’s appointments take effect for the 2025 term and set the leadership for the district’s upcoming budgeting and committee assignments. The board said any committee membership changes or out‑of‑district representative designations (for example, Delaware County Community College and the Delaware County Intermediate Unit) will be announced in January 2025.
No formal dissent or roll-call vote was recorded in the transcript for these elections; the clerk announced each motion as carried 7–0.
