Glynn County approves settlement in shipping dispute and authorizes eminent domain for drainage easement

Glynn County commissioners on Aug. 1 voted unanimously to approve and ratify a settlement in the county's pending lawsuit against GLNB 24 Shipping Incorporated and separately adopted a resolution authorizing the use of eminent domain to secure a permanent drainage easement for a College Park drainage improvement project.

During open session the board approved the settlement and related documents "in exchange for the payment to the county" and recorded a net distribution figure of $2,375,385.32.
