The Glynn County Island Planning Commission approved a site plan for two new commercial buildings at 1811 Frederica Road, moving the project forward with agreed changes to driveway use and parking geometry.
Staff presented the plan showing one roughly 5,300-square-foot building and one roughly 8,300-square-foot building, required tree inventory and buffers, and existing access points. Engineering and the agent discussed preserving existing access and reconfiguring the driveway to increase parking efficiency. The agent, who identified herself as Adrienne, said the project will relocate two local businesses, including an interior-design office and a bank branch.
Commissioners discussed making the north entrance 'entry only' and angling parking to improve circulation. Keith Schonauer of Tidewater Engineering said aligning the drive and angled parking could increase spaces and improve circulation. The commission indicated staff and the engineer should finalize the signage and parking angle; a motion to approve the site plan passed after that discussion.
