The Glynn County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on Sept. 19 to approve the fifth amendment to the roadway access agreement with the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), extending FLETC’s lease of portions of Vogel Road and Golf Course Road through Dec. 31, 2024.
County staff said the amendment is procedural and tied to an ongoing sale of property to FLETC; the extension gives additional time to finalize closing. Mr. Monfort (named in the record as speaking to the item) explained the amendment provides temporary access and lease continuation while the county and FLETC complete the sale.
Commissioner Rufalski moved to approve the fifth amendment; the motion was seconded and the board voted with the chair announcing the motion was unanimous.
The amendment extends the lease only through Dec. 31, 2024. No additional county funding or long-term changes to roadway ownership were described during the meeting. Staff indicated the sale remains in process and the extension is intended to bridge timing to closing.
