Sheriff John said the sheriff's office fiscal-year budget (reported for the July 1'June 30 cycle) was $17,608,783 and that overtime overruns affected multiple units: he cited an overtime overage of about $280,000 in traffic, roughly $687,000 in detention services and about $672,000 in deputies and administration. He said those totals reflect hours tied to prisoner transports, extended hospital stays and court-scheduling delays.
