Assistant Parks & Recreation Director Scott Volk presented bids for Alliance Park Improvements Phase 3 and told the council staff recommends awarding the construction contract, including both alternates, to Concrete Connections for $519,637.

Volk said eight bids were received and described project scope as parking (approximately 39 stalls on the south side of Prairie, including two ADA stalls), site walkways, playground sub‑base work (alternate 1) and an alternate sidewalk connection from the basketball courts. He told council construction is slated to start after July 4, the parking portion is expected to be complete by Aug. 22 so it is ready before school starts, and the remainder of work would continue through Oct. 1.

Volk emphasized the project should be less disruptive than previous sidewalk work because it includes less deep utility excavation. Staff indicated they will coordinate detours and school communications in advance. The public hearing on the bids was opened and closed during the meeting; council later considered related resolutions and motions recorded on the agenda.

No public objection was recorded during the hearing. The recommendation as presented by staff and the schedule details were the basis for council consideration.
