Magistrates press court on road funding as county discretionary allocation set to zero

He added that flex funding could be pursued and that the county has approximately $89,216 allocated for the coming year to be split across five districts (roughly $16,000 per district).
Magistrates flagged several county roads in difficult condition (for example Crumb Branch and Castle Branch) and the judge said the court would continue to seek avenues for funding and prioritize roads with higher need scores. Court members expressed frustration that the county had been left out of prior allocations and pledged to continue advocacy at the state level.
No specific new appropriation was approved at the meeting; the discussion was framed as ongoing advocacy and potential administrative adjustments.
