Commissioners approve consent agenda, routine purchases and a deputy-constable appointment

Tom Green County Commissioner’s Court on March 11 approved its consent agenda and a series of routine administrative and personnel actions.
Presiding official recited items on the consent agenda that included a treasurer's claim to register for $609,031.66, bills to be paid totaling $2,455,119.90, and purchase orders totaling $106,778.49, plus several independent auditor acknowledgements for county departments. The court approved the consent items by motion and voice vote.
During regular business the court approved a first replat for Red Creek Subdivision in Precinct 3, authorized a purchase order for vehicle-camera repair to Texas Communications after a sheriff's office repair was completed without a prior PO, and approved change order 3 and associated line-item transfers to finalize annex cabling and related ancillary equipment. The court also appointed Bridal Robinson as deputy constable for Precinct 2; the motion was seconded and carried.
County staff publicly thanked local donor Chris Myers for a $400 donation recorded on the agenda and recognized volunteers such as Rita Martinez for work with the Concho Valley Bobcats and Special Olympics programming. Staff and commissioners discussed following procurement procedures and the need for POs and proper vendor quotes to avoid after-the-fact charges.
The court recorded the approvals with voice votes and no recorded opposition for these items. Several commissioners asked staff to tighten procedures around PO issuance and vendor follow-up so that work is not performed without proper authorization.
The court also approved a renewal for the countywide bulk fuel delivery contract and discussed that the contract includes optional renewals; staff reported road-and-bridge superintendents had reviewed and supported renewal.
