The Nicholasville City Commission on Monday approved two ordinances on second reading: an amendment to the city’s transient room tax code and a restriction limiting commercial vehicles to federal and state roads, with limited local access exceptions.
Mayor called the second readings and noted there were no changes since the previous meeting. Commissioners moved and seconded both items; roll-call votes were recorded and both ordinances were adopted. The transient-room-tax ordinance amends Article 6, Chapter 21 of the city code to clarify collection procedures. The commercial-vehicle ordinance prohibits use of residential streets by commercial vehicles except when necessary for access to a destination within the city.
The votes were taken by roll call; commissioners present recorded affirmative votes on both measures.
The ordinances will take the next procedural steps under city code and be added to the published municipal code as amended. Staff said there were no substantive amendments at this meeting and that implementation details will follow in administrative procedures if needed.
