The Nicholasville City Commission on Sept. 23 approved an amendment to a memorandum of agreement involving the Dale property that removes a previously required 1.67‑acre open‑space provision.
Staff told the commission the original requirement — envisioned as an amphitheater area and tied to earlier negotiations with a developer — was negotiated with the developer rather than the current property owner and that the dynamics of the development have since changed. "If this board feels comfortable with removing that open space requirement, then that is something that I would support," the presenting staff member said, explaining the purchasers requested the city remove the condition.
The commission moved, seconded and approved the amendment by roll call. No additional conditions or new public‑use requirements were added during the discussion.
